Quiet shading for working rooms.

I started Rollavision in Leicester in 1997 after fitting blinds for national contractors who never stayed long enough to see whether the chain sat straight. The work looked finished on the delivery note, but I could see the bracket sitting a few millimetres out, the fabric travelling towards the handle, the blind catching a cable trunking that nobody had mentioned. Those are small things until you are the person pulling the blind down every afternoon.

So I still measure the way I was taught to measure when the job mattered. I check recesses at the top, middle and sill. I look for fire alarms, vents, suspended ceiling edges, awkward handles and desks that will be in the fitter’s way. I return calls because an office manager trying to solve glare in a south-facing room does not need silence for three days. And I prefer blinds that do their job without asking for attention. In a working room, the best blind is noticed once, when the sun stops hitting the screen, then forgotten because it sits level, pulls cleanly and lets people get on with the day.
